The conference invites proposals from anyone interested in sharing their experience working with community-based participatory media or research into story-based participatory media practices. Academics are encouraged to propose papers that discuss digital storytelling and its theoretical, social, and cultural contexts. But we also invite proposals from digital storytelling practitioners interested in reflecting on their work. All presenters are encouraged to show examples of digital stories within their allocated 15 to 20-minutes presentations.
In addition to individual proposals, panel ideas are welcome. Each session with have 3-4 panelists, with 15 or 20 minutes for presentation and fifteen minute period for questions. Your abstract for presentations and panels should be submitted in the 100 word space provided. The panel proposals should state the topic and the purpose of the panel, configured by the panel head. In addition, the panel proposal should include the brief summary of each participant’s part in the panel, accompanied by their bios in few words. We will request additional information if needed, and you are welcome to contact us at dst6fivecolleges@gmail.com if you want to provide additional information.
The deadline for proposal submission is March 31, 2015. The proposals will be reviewed between April 1 - April 21, 2015. We will contact the approved panels and presentations shortly afterward.
